The Historic Billy Fourr Ranch was founded in the late 1800's. The ranch has 1238 deeded acres, State lease of 11,600 acres and the Forrest allotment of 4,000 acres for a total of 16,838 acres. Carrying capacity of the ranch is approx. 225 head. The Ranch is fenced and cross fenced and is designed to rotate the cattle throughout the year. The Forrest allotment lease is a 6 month lease and covers an area of the western most side of the Dragoon Mountains. In the 1990's the ranch was purchased by an heir of the Coca-Cola bottling company, who held ownership until 2004. Throughout his ownership many improvements were made to the ranch headquarters. The main home is an adobe home and was built in the 1800's, to our best knowledge; other buildings were constructed from 1970 to1990s. There is the main home, two ranch workers homes, a 16 bed bunk house and one other unit with three bedrooms, three baths used for guest as well. Separate indoor swimming pool house with two baths. Outbuildings include a large horse barn, machine shed, and a garage for storage and equipment repair. Many improvements have been made in the last few years to update the ranch buildings and homes. The ranch is watered from a well located in the Dragoon Mountain range and gravity fed to the headquarters and all locations on the ranch. Three large holding tanks are used to keep the supply of water needed to operate the ranching operations. This system is the system that has been used from the time the ranch was founded in the 1800's.
